Palace Episode wins the first 2yo race of the season with Join Up

Unfairly little known, the Gr.1 winner son of Machiavellian Palace Episode shows his potential to produce precoious types when siring the first 2014 winning juvenile in Europe. Join Up was successful in the Prix de la Marche over 4 1/2  at Saint-Cloud on Saturday 15th March.

He came out in the limelight in 2013 with a small crop of 6 registered foals in France. All ran, 3 were placed and Ponthieu won 3 times. While the 2014 breeding season was well underway, Palace Episode shed the light on his career when Join Up in his second generation, bigger than the first one,  ran in the first juvenile contest of the calendar. Palace Episode, standing at Haras du Logis Saint-Germain is paradoxically more appreciated by the buyers rather than breeders. Most of his first foals were well sold at Arqana, including a €52,000 yearling at Deauville 2013 August sale to Con Marnane. Buyers trusted his precocity. Indeed, the son of Machiavellian, nephew to the excellent american Tejano Run, also won a Gr.1 at 2 in England : the Racing Post Trophy. Trained by her breeder Mathieu Boutin, Join Up is a grand daughter to Grioun (Kaldoun), great filly trained by Dominique Sepulchre, three times listed laureate at 3 in the West, including the Derby, defeating colts, but disappointing at stud.
